Provincetown is also known for its mysterious phantom called ‘The Black Flash’, that terrorized that town in 1939. I researched that strange series of events and published my findings here: http://www.anomalistbooks.com/ta13.html
John Keel writes in his ‘Strange Creatures Out Of Time And Space’ (Neville Spearman ed. page 11) about a giant prowler that infested Berwick, Nova Scotia. Researching this case I found it was a hoax, see here: http://blogs.forteana.org/node/111
