What we have is a number of anomalies that by themselves have no meaning. John was trying to find a pattern with the help of his friends. Like trying to put a crossword puzzle together with most of the pieces missing. Interesting that almost 50 years later we still do not have a definitive answer.

I really appreciate all your hard work keeping this site going. I love having this chance to read up on all Mr. Keel’s notes, as well as articles, correspondence, etc. It really adds more depth to the stories we love and makes it feel like we are being given free reign to root through his files to our hearts delight. Thanks again!!!

People who have Cushings disease have large round red faces, skinny arms and legs, and fat broad bodies. It’s a metabolic condition.. Maybe it was related to a growth disorder and explained his large size? Sufferers may also have unusual thirst. Did he have a humped back? ……These are fascinating notes. Don’t know what Tiny hoped to achieve. Nothing was asked about the sighting. The description of the k and x on the badge made me think about a swastika. Maybe an angular shape like that could look like a k and x if seen quickly. Could the wire have been a medical implant device ? Stimulate nerves or muscles? Electric warming socks? The whole story of how he got there, got a ride from someone he just met, is improbable and unlikely but not impossible. But how does an investigator not have a car?
I await your next post!

Sufferers may also have round reddish ( brownish ? ) spots on the sides of their calls. Perhaps the wire was a drainage tube? Or just a loose thread from clothing?

I was talking this over with a friend who’s an M.D., and she thought that angular features would be odd for Cushings disease. Not impossible, but not typical. The weight, bulging eyes, and lack of body hair could indicate hypothyroidism. I thought the shaved spot on the head might mean that he’d had electroshock treatment, but that probably wouldn’t be on the back of the head. My friend couldn’t think of a medical treatment using a wire in the leg. Well, there’s more to come…

Hi,
The Mothman Prophecies is one of my favorite books, and I only recently found this site, which is a great resource. Is it possible to get a copy of either the original manuscript or the case notes/interviews/etc. that were used to make the book? The documents about Tiny were very interesting, and it would be great to be able to study John Keel’s notes on the other events covered in the book.
Thank you,
Jon

I think John sold the original manuscript of The Mothman Prophecies in the ’90s, through Bob Girard of Arcturus Books. I’m posting any interviews and case notes I can find! John apparently took more notes on the events in Long Island (also described in the book) than in Point Pleasant.
