Naivasha Carl Allen was obviously annoyed at John’s letter, and answered him with a remarkable 15-page single-spaced tirade. John refers to it in the letter that I linked to before, on Andrew Hochheim’s site. Allen also enclosed the record of his service on the USSĀ Andrew Furuseth, where he claimed he saw the “Philadelphia Experiment.”
I suspect few readers will want to read Allen’s whole letter, so I’ll post just the first and last page, as well as his service record. He veers wildly between jovial friendliness and thundering denunciations, ending with saying he wants nothing more to do with John. But he did write two more (shorter) letters after this.
Actually I’d kind of like to see the other 13 pages. Cal’s (or Carlos’s) style is strangely fascinating.

I thought John’s reply, shown above, was pretty reasonable. He explains succinctly (without taking 15 pages) why the whole issue of Allen’s identity was in question. He he pointed out that there are numerous people claiming to be “Allende” and filled in some backround on the case. He ended the letter amicably. Allen’s reply is so much weird as sad.

Allen is appealing in many ways, but definitely troubled. I plan to post his other two (shorter) letters to John, so you can look forward to those.

John is certainly more reasonable than Allen. I suppose Allen thought John was accusing him of lying, or was claiming someone else was really Carlos Allende.

My commnents will be off topic, but I did first try to post them elsewhere on your site,(new Jersey/Ivan Sanderson) so please bear with me. I was wondering if you have come across in your files any information about JAK and Ivan Sanderson investigating a small New Jersey town where it is alleged that ALL the inhabitants had experienced “missing time”. JAK stated that Ivan felt that it was just to big an event for them to get to the bottom of…. It would be interesting to know just where and when this was. Please feel free to delete my message from this thread, but I would be very happy to hear back from you at my personal email.
Thank you, Paul Grzybowski

Paul — Sorry you had trouble commenting. I had to put a time limit on posts to control the flood of spam. At any rate, I never heard about that investigation. It sounds interesting!
