JOHN KEEL NOT AN AUTHORITY ON ANYTHING

order Misoprostol online John sends another letter to the purported Androids, with a test to find out if they can read his mind. He pastes some clippings into the record, about a Soviet claim of a propaganda campaign mounted by the U.S. and about an earthquake that might delay the Pope’s planned visit to Turkey. He follows with a report on more strangeness, and on odd phone calls received by Jaye Paro, Ivan Sanderson, and others. As he says in his report, he’s having trouble keeping up with all of it.

As July, 1967, continues, John sends another message to the Androids, quoting the poem “The Seeing Eye,” by Margaret L. Farrand. For some reason, he omits the 7th and 8th lines: “He saw the hill and the tree and the cloud / With an artist’s mind and eye.” Exodus 22 contains laws prohibiting the theft of livestock. The next day, he reprises “the story so far.” There are some surprises. I think this is the first time the prophesied assassins are described as “Zionist terrorists.” Also, the prophecies had been described before as coming from the Third Secret of Fatima, not the Bible.

Jaye Paro reported that she had attended the “Council of the Ten Men,” and that the assembled Androids had discussed John’s plans for a public UFO demonstration. They also warned that the Pope would soon be assassinated, and that three days of darkness would follow. John wrote a letter to the Council, presumably through Jaye. At this point, he’s frustrated and alarmed, and seems to believe at least some of Paro’s stories. We’re still in July, 1967, and there’s more to come.

Jaye Paro kept notes on her supposed meeting with “The Ten Men,” and John included them in his file. There are ten pages, apparently hastily written, with many misspellings and abbreviations. She doesn’t mention her more sensational stories (like the dead bodies and blood drinking), but notes John’s request for a public UFO demonstration and the response. There are also repeated appeals for John to believe and trust the androids (although they admit they’ve done nothing to earn it), apologies for their nonsensical behavior, and passages from the Bible. The last page is signed “Appell,” and closes with, “And now I am going to him who sent me. A word of comfort – Let not your heart nor your mind be troubled. Believe in God and Believe in me. For in my father’s house there are many mansions. I speak more words tomorrow for the M[essenger] is not well & must rest.” Under this, Jaye has written “Prennial.”

This, like much of Paro’s material, sounds to me like channeling, or automatic writing. Back in 1967, John continued to try to figure it out.

I’ve posted the first three pages below. The date in the margin on the first page, March 25, 1930, was John’s birthday.

Jaye Paro’s tales now becomes even more implausible, as she reports her visit to the Council of the Ten Men. The androids (apparently also called “The Third Group”) discuss John’s proposal for a public UFO display, show Jaye bodies on tables, drink blood, and offer a set of signals that UFOs will flash during an upcoming blackout. John is elated at the news, and we can only hope that he remembers his caveat: “If Jaye is not making up all of this…”

One the same day that John wrote the anguished letter to the androids (the one he didn’t mail), he wrote another letter reiterating his suggestion for a public UFO display. It’s very similar to the first, so I see no need to post it. He noted that he received a reply from Jaye before she got the letter.

Next in John’s file are a couple of messages passed on to him by Jaye Paro. The first, attributed to Mike Mann (another ufologist) is a hodgepodge of saucer stories; John dismisses it as nonsense, and notes it was disavowed by Mann. It’s dated June 19, so it was either dated incorrectly or filed out of sequence. The second, from an elderly Italian whose signature I can’t decipher, is a warning about the aliens. (PS: As AD Reich points out in a comment, John quotes this letter in The Mothman Prophecies. Later in his notes, he identifies the writer as a man named Louis Ingolia.) John then notes some of Paro’s trance prophecies about airplane crashes, and adds clippings on the deaths of Castelo Branco (former President of Brazil) and John T. McNaughton (incoming Secretary of the Navy), the Pope’s planned travel to Turkey, and a UFO seen over Paris; I didn’t post those either.

The androids waste no time. On July 20, Jaye claimed that she attended a meeting of the Council of Ten Men, convened to discuss John’s proposal. She had a lot to report, and we’ll start mulling it over next time.

We’re still in 1967. On July 19, John wrote another letter to the supposed aliens or androids, Apol and Agar, after they ignored his request for a demonstration. He didn’t mail it. It’s a remarkable letter, in which he attempts to get an answer from entities who probably didn’t exist. As he says, “All my life I have sought truth and I have followed strange paths, meandering through the unknown.” None was as strange as this, in which he’s forced to ask if his correspondents are a hoax. One clue to this mess may lie in his description of Jaye Paro as distressed and anguished; this episode, whatever is was, was apparently difficult for her. Unless, of course, she was acting.

The “important men” killed in airplane crashes were Castelo Branco, the former president of Brazil, and John T. McNaughton, incoming Secretary of the Navy (John saved the clippings).

John had sent a letter to Jaye Paro’s androids, suggesting plans for a public UFO demonstration. This is Apol’s answer, which, as usual, is frustratingly opaque. It does mention “three in dark clothing,” which I assume is a reference to the Men In Black.

John writes another letter in the midst of all this, to the ufologists Jim and Coral Lorenzen. He compliments them on their recent book, Flying Saucer Occupants, and fills them in on his continuing research. He’s apparently taking many of Jaye Paro’s stories quite seriously at this point. Newcomers to this continuing saga should remember that his views changed in later years. But here, in the midst of it, he’s sure he’s onto an important story.

As July 1967 continues, John reports on some of the strange activity around another contactee, Gladys Fusaro. He makes a couple of hoax calls to her; I’m not sure why. Jaye Paro records a tape in which she apparently channels one of her alien contacts, Agar. And Gray Barker chimes in with an odd story as well.

It was not until 1981 that there was an assassination attempt on the Pope. The shooter was Turkish (although the attempt took place in Vatican City); and the Vatican revealed in 2000 that the Third Secret of Fatima did indeed prophecy the Pope’s assassination. More, of course, for John to puzzle over.
